Our Story

In 2013, as a student in the doctor of physical therapy program, Dr. Laura Winkler performed her clinical rotations at a growing clinic in Kalispell, Montana. During her internship, it was apparent that she was surrounded by a group of progressive people who wanted to improve patients’ lives, the lives of their staff and advocate for the physical therapy profession.

Laura was presented with an opportunity to acquire a clinic with growth potential in Billings, Montana. She didn’t hesitate to jump right in. She knew this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build an awesome team and promote private practice. After graduating from physical therapy school, Laura moved to Billings and began her journey to create the ‘new’ Physical Therapy in Motion.

Through mentorship, collaboration and persistence, the Physical Therapy in Motion team has successfully created a private practice that continues to grow and expand. Since taking over Physical Therapy in Motion, the team’s reputation for providing excellent physical therapy allowed Laura to add another location and expand the original clinic.
